When I called the midwife at around 17:00 on Wednesday 22 October and told her that I'd been having contractions 10 to 12 minutes apart for the past two or three days, she told me to take two Panado, get into bed and call her in the morning.
When I called her back at 18:00 the same day, the contractions were 90 seconds apart and she instructed me to go directly to the active birth unit.
Jack Gabriel Parkins was born 4 hours later, 52cm tall and weighing 3.38kg.
